57 years ago GINO opened a bar and restaurant at 780 Lexington Avenue, New York. GINO's outstanding hospitality, interest in people and love for life established the restaurant as one of the city's land marks. First as a place to meet friends, dine and have fun, secondly as a rendezvous for artists, newspaper men and bankers. In the series of paintings and drawings I have attempted to capture the sights and sounds of this unique environment and the surrounding area. The patrons, the members of the staff and interior combine to create one of the city' most memorable experiences.
